Warranty Information
At designLux, we pride ourselves on supplying only high-quality lighting products from carefully selected, reputable manufacturers. We understand that reliability and performance are essential for your lighting installations, and we are committed to ensuring that your investment is supported by robust warranty coverage.
Warranty Periods
Most of our suppliers offer a standard 5-year manufacturer’s warranty on their lighting products, reflecting the confidence they have in the quality and durability of their designs.
Standard coverage: 5 years on most luminaires and associated components.
Extended coverage: Certain premium product ranges include warranties of up to 10 years, providing exceptional long-term assurance.
Exceptions: Some suppliers and product types—particularly specialist fittings or specific ranges—may carry a shorter warranty period of 2–3 years. This is typically due to the nature of the product, its intended application, or specific component life expectancy.
The exact warranty period for any given product will be confirmed at the time of quotation or purchase and will also be stated in the manufacturer’s product documentation.
What the Warranty Covers
The manufacturer’s warranty covers replacement of the product in the event of a manufacturing defect or failure occurring within the stated warranty period.
In most cases:
A replacement fitting will be supplied free of charge once a valid claim is approved.
The replacement will be equivalent to the original item or, if discontinued, an appropriate alternative of equal specification.
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
The warranty provided by the manufacturer does not cover:
Shipping, transport, or handling costs related to the return of the faulty item or delivery of the replacement.
Labour costs for removing the defective product or installing the replacement.
Loss of monetary value, profit, or other consequential damages arising from the product failure, downtime, or disruption caused by the defect.
Damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, or modification of the product.
Wear and tear from normal usage or environmental conditions outside of the product’s design specification.
Making a Warranty Claim
To make a claim under the manufacturer’s warranty:
Contact DesignLux with the product details, proof of purchase, and a description of the fault.
In some cases, the manufacturer may request that the defective product be returned for inspection before approving the claim.
Once approved, the manufacturer will supply a replacement fitting in accordance with the warranty terms.
Please note: All warranty claims must be submitted within the stated warranty period. Claims outside of this period cannot be accepted, even if the fault first occurred before the warranty expired.
Our Commitment
While warranties are issued and administered by the manufacturer, DesignLux is committed to supporting our clients throughout the process. We will work closely with you and the supplier to ensure claims are handled promptly and with minimal disruption to your project.
If you would like further information about the warranty coverage for a particular product, please contact us at the time of purchase, and we will be happy to provide the relevant manufacturer’s warranty documentation.
